Guess what!!!
You know that "time" is going just as fast in 2010 as it did in 2009... ha ha
I bet, I didn't have to tell you that one... especially for those who are back at work...
A friend, Miss D took me away for a couple of days visiting our girlfriend on the border [Border Girl] & her man [Mr. Music], it was a nice change not to have to drive myself. Thanks Miss D & thanks to Border Girl & Mr Music for taking us everywhere & finding such great places for us to spend our money... ha ha Will tell you more about that adventure later on...
Today, I'm packing the Christmas decorations away... My Man took them down for me yesterday... Bet he had fun finding them in the garden as I tend to hide them if I can... ha ha
Say G'day to Purple Welcome girl... a newly acquired friend for my front garden.
My Man is afraid someone will want to take her so he makes sure she is well secured with zippie ties - not always in the most appropriate places but what can I say his intention is good.

Before you grab the Santa Key, did you notice the lovelies at the front...

Front door star has been in the family for years - picked by the our kids...
Notice the heavy duty fly-screened door to keep bugs & burglar's out & dogs & good people in...

Just by the front door... poor plant is an imitation bamboo... belongs to the grass family. it has to have a severe hair-cut a while ago to survive the dry & heat & is taking longer than usual to come back... but come back it is... a true survivor...

I know it's a it of a challenge but there are strings of golden angels & beads hanging in this crouton tree pot-plant... we think it has been potted for well over 30 years... I just love it's colours so it has pride of place in front of the door...
With our style of house we have lots of off the wall pot-plants... This ivy just keeps going on, no matter what the weather... forever green...
OK, you have seen what's inside, so we are out the back now & still more hanging pot-plants they even hang off each other & I use whatever I can find to decorate them & make them more colourful & fun... Loved the mirrored balls when they came out a few years ago even if they don't have hangers on them anymore they sparkle in the plants... either in the sunshine or the moonlight...

Again a bit hard to see, no doubt, my beads & mirrored balls hanging in the water garden feature..

Now you can see why I say it must be a bit of a challenge for My Man to find them all...

I use anything I can find to hang my plants in... here we have a kitchen ceiling cooking pot-hanger & the frames off old dead free-standing electric fans.
Well must be off now & pack them all away for another year... thanks for popping in... Next time I'll try to show you all the crocheted presents I made...

What a mad week this has been... Hot beyond belief I reckon considering 'tis only late Nov...

Even relented & put the air-con on of an arvo to get some relief... luckily for us it's not been too bad of a night so we have been able to get a reasonably good night's sleep.

Been to visit with Mum & my sister during the week & got to take some photos of my B-I-L lovely shade clothed pergola area where he grows such lovely leafy plants, caladiums, broms & anthuriums... so I snuck in & took a few photos... this area just loves the humid heat it generates with it's little pond & all.

Our home is looking like a bomb has hit it, but, have been busy trying to do some more de-cluttering... mainly going through my massive book collection, at present... I adore art sortta books, love the feel, the smell & all the inspirational photos & works in them, but what do I do with them, then... when I've looked & caressed them enough, gleaned as much as I can outta them... when it's time to move onto something else... ohhh the dilemma... they are too good to be thrown out nobody really wants them soooooo.... maybe I will have to look into selling them on-line... just that they are good books so rather heavy for posting... ummmmm

I've been busy doing bits of crochet here & there... finishing off some things but others are still WIP as they say... wanting to stiffen some of my crochet but not sure how to do it... I searched the internet for ideas & decided that Modge Podge would be best so off I went today to buy some... first, I baulked at the price then when I read it, I remembered how long it took to dry on paper arts... dried but still sticky... that took weeks to go away, if not, not all together... so it's back to the drawing board... any ideas would be gratefully accepted...
Ideas thought of so far are... sugar solution - here, that's a disaster as the bugs love it & sometimes it collapses with the humidity... some glues leave residue... some stiffening goes yellow with age... all gets so confusing... help is needed, please...

What in the devil is thi,s you might ask too...

Well back to shifting things around with the de-cluttering. I brought my old wardrobe to my house from Mum's house... hubby put some shelves in it where the hanging space was so that I can store some of my yarns & fabrics in there - safer from the bugs than out in my Gyrlie shed but the problem was it's a shade bigger [well... dam well a lot... ha ha] so it's not fitting in as snug as I had hoped into my computer room so other furniture has to be shifted around, so... better get off of here & get it done... I have my girlfriend coming for a sleepover & we have to find her bed yet... ha ha...

Ohh... it's sooo quite here now, with just Hubby, Gilly[our fur baby] & me... the Grandies have gone back to their own homes ready for school this week... We went to the movies one day & saw G-Force in 3D which was fun, even for me... you know how I love the kids movies.
Our eldest Grandie came to give us a hand with a few jobs around our home, so we got some fence painting done, some palm tree trimming, some awning painting & ripped out a whole garden which had been over-run by nut grass. So lots accomplished... plus many trips to the park in the arvo... one playing on the play equipment, the other trying his hand at fishing...
Ohh me... Well, I drank coffee & caught up on the latest goss with my girlfriend
After a quick trip to the shop for the Sunday papers today I noticed that our crucifix orchard was out in flower & knew just what vase I would put it in...

Mum's single flower crystal vase... isn't it a lovely...

I have kept my hands busy & have added to my Crocheted Art Rock collection...
Now this was a bit of fun too... another Crocheted Art Rock. I used a small smooth rock, what you would no doubt call a skimmer rock, then made it into a necklace... lots of fun... & great for my short attention span at the mo...

Spring ...

Here we are Mon 1st September where ohhh where have the months gone ... I feel I've been in some sort of vacuum or something, here, but not here... been doing a few things in the creative line but blog surfing more than anything else but it's Spring so I need to get myself sorted and motivated - NO more PROCRASTINATING ... I've seen so many beautiful things while I've been surfing - my mind is full of great ideas. I'm not a sketching sortta person but have a couple of books that I use to write stuff o interest in plus a few sketches of lay-outs/plans whatever you want to call them cause I don't class myself as a person that can draw but I'm going to work on my sketching but in the long run I guess so long as I know what it represents that's all that matters but they say the more you do the better you get so that's ME...
Since Luc & I went to Adelaide back in May I have been doing a bit of walking each day [I was so sore walking in Adelaide by the time we came home I was starting to feel a bit better about it so decided it was time to make some changes ...] I've kept it up and enjoy my little walk each morning even Gilly is coming with me now and is very forlorn if left at home. So that's 15 weeks so does that mean I've formed a pattern that I will want to keep - I know it still need MY will-power...
I've noticed while walking that the local house fences still get graffiti even these days - I thought with shops & a railway station not far away they would concentrate on those. I gotta say I like some graffiti but what I'm seeing is certainly not Art...this sort of graffiti is just vandalism in my eyes, but, I'm not going to get into this debate what I did find on this fence was an interesting confession of love & admiration a young lady has for her man - there for one & all to see ...I think this girl could have a career in writing if she put her mind to it - she definitely knows how to express herself just a shame it has to be on someone elses fence...
I do enjoy looking at other peoples gardens as some of you will know I love my garden so I can get lots of ideas. My hairdresser has a wonderful 'whimsical' garden as she calls it & I just love it & you can see she gets so much pleasure from working in it & collecting her stuff for it ... go Deb.
I found these whirly gigs in a yard not far from me - they look like the gentleman garden might be the maker as well - so kool ....
