Thank You for popping over... if I have gone AWL, again...
Please come a knocking over at this door... I am, no doubt, up to something, as per usual...

Here are the last of the Chrissie gifts I crocheted...
I found I just loved making Garlands...
you can crochet them anywhere...
even crochet them together, while out...
one of these flower & butterfly ones I had
to finish at the shopping centre while I ate lunch
with my sister so we could get it in the post in time...

I wish I was as organised as some people are...
they seem to know exactly what they are making
well before-hand, me, I think I do, but then someone
shows me another 'lovely', and then I want to make
that, so I always feel like I'm chasing my tail come the
week before Christmas... but like my 'older' sister
always says... 'That's just you'... ummmm
Remember these lovely butterflies Nets Pets showed
us how to make on her video...
Not sure where I got the flower from... seem to
have known how to crochet if forever & I crocheted
the circles on the ends, just to give the garland a
more finished looked.
In some of the flowers I used some of Mum's old buttons..
I actually made a few of these... some have one butterfly &
others have three with lovely bright & sunny flowers...
Yep another garland... this time stars in granny style...
Loved the pattern that the Royal Sisters shared with us just
before Christmas... Grandma's Twinkles...
Button trims again & an extra row of double crochet[SC]
to join the rope in with...
With a white trim & just a bit different way of sewing the button on...
Last Christmas I made several strings of bunting flags/banners
with fabric... that wasn't possible this year, so I did it in
crochet instead...
This one is what I call a solid granny square but with
only three sides...
again trimmed with blue yarn in crab stitch, with
a button & bell added.
I made them the size to fit over a doorway...
Here is another one but this one is done in the
three sided granny square...
I adapted the pattern of the Royal Sisters... I know, did it again -
changed the pattern, but they have a Grandma Christmas Tree
tutorial that I just left the tree stump off & went around the edge
with double crochet[SC], in this case blue...

Found a little heart shaped button in my stash...

Added bells to the points....

Here we are with a white trim & buttons between the flags...

I used an 8ply acrylic yarn a 4.00 - 4.50mm hook for
all these gifts. I've read that the harder/stiffer the acrylic
yarn is the better your crochet will hold it's shape.
I wouldn't use an iron as I did that to one lot of stars &
they turned into flat, droopy stars... the iron was no doubt
too hot even with protection between iron & article...
trying to hurry the drying process after damp blocking...
You know what they say... 'you live & learn'...
I seem to like doing that the hard way...
Also learnt that Ironing Aid is not the same as Iron starch...
Ohhh... dear....

Wow Bethel, you have been really busy and creative - I love your garlands and banner and the stars from the previous post. I bet your friends and family were delighted to receive some homemade treasures. Kim

You've beat me to it! I was thinking of doing a butterfly garland. I'm over the moon with all these things you 've made Bethel. I love the twinkles, I love the edging, I love everything. You have been working so hard. They are fantastic. I'm sorry I'm late getting to you, I haven't been on much this week, too busy shovelling snow!!
They are all great, inspiration to try the twinkles, thanks !!

Love the garlands, especially with the butterflies and lots of colour.
And putting the bells on the bottom is a fantastic idea, must remember that for next Xmas
